Is Uneven Color Normal When Printing Large Solid Black Areas? 🖨️⬛
Share
When printing normal text, everything may look clear. But when printing a large solid black area, you might notice that some parts look darker or lighter.
Does this mean there is something wrong with the toner cartridge?
💙 Is This Normal?
Slight unevenness can sometimes happen, and it does not necessarily mean the toner cartridge has a quality problem.
Large solid black graphics require much more toner coverage than ordinary text. This makes small differences in toner distribution and print density easier to notice.
Common reasons include:
- Toner is starting to run low
- Toner distribution inside the cartridge is uneven
- Print density settings are too low
- The cartridge or drum condition needs checking
What Should You Do? 🔍
First, print a few normal text pages.
If the text is clear and the large black area only shows slight unevenness, you can usually continue using the toner.
If the page has large white patches, obvious fading, repeated lines, or severe unevenness, check the toner cartridge, drum, and printer condition.
